Osho and Obama: Experiences in a US Jail

Image
Source of information from  www.oshonews.com Thirty years ago the contemporary mystic Osho was dragged – after an illegal arrest – for twelve days through six jails across the United States. After his jail experience, Osho shared the shocking details of US mass incarceration which increased dramatically thereafter, but was not an issue at the time – people wanted to be safe. It took thirty years and a first black US President to expose the cruelty happening to young people in US jails, particularly the black population. Individual chapters cover such subjects as The Nuclear Family: The Imminent Meltdown; Pseudo-Religion: The Stick-on Soul; They Say Believe, I Say Explore; and Ecstasy Is Now: Why Wait? and others. The enclosed DVD gives a firsthand experience of the process, which Osho calls a "dry cleaning of the mind." 'The Magic of Self-Respect' -So much of the experience of everyday life, says Osho in this insightful guide, is shaped by religious and social conditioning — and we are not even aware of the fact. A Practical Guide to Osho Meditations Meditation: The First and Last Freedom shows that meditation is not a spiritual discipline separate from everyday life in the real world. In essence, it is simply the art of being aware of what is going on inside and around us. As we acquire the knack, meditation can be our companion wherever we are-at work, at play, at rest. The meditation contains practical, step-by-step guides to a wide variety of meditation techniques selected by and/or created by Osho, including the unique OSHO Active Meditations which deal with the special tensions of contemporary life. Recognizing that it's almost impossible for most people these days just to stop and sit silently, these meditations - including the Osho Dynamic Meditation and Osho Kundalini Meditation - begin with one or more stages of vigorous physical activity. This brings our physical and mental energies to a peak so that the following silence is easy -- leaving us alert, refreshed, and new...
